And what if one didn't have to go away to change and evolve? Even
though the Healy brothers have been shaking the
world with their heavy basses and avalanches of beats for years,
they still record their music in their remote personal studios,
somewhere in the welsh countryside. And, still, one has to admit
and recognize their evolution. Time will tell if the language fo
their ealier releases has died, but this new sound is definitely
here to stay and to seduce.
Layers of sounds that can't be described but as "Somatics-ian",
synthetic waves that just wouldn't work with anybody else, and a
beat forged in their very own laboratories, the sound of Somatic
Responses on "Dying Language" is obviously the one
of a mature band, of careful jewelers of electronic music, that
combines their own brand of sonic heaviness and a strong flow with
insolent talent. Who else could craft such an album of metronomic
regularity, solid consistency with so much innovation? Here come
Somatic Responses
again, steady as always, melodic as never before, and heavy as you
like them.
"Dying language" is post-something, yes. But it is also
in the middle of pure electronic jewelry. Finish your leek soup
and learn a new language.
