Friday Freebie: Listen to Monolog's souvenir from Schlagstrom fest.
Friday Freebie: Ad Noiseam's Monolog took part in Berlin's yearly industrial Schlagstrom fest last week, keeping on with a festival tour which has lead him to play on such prestigious stages as Maschinenfest's and Fusion's. The room might have been heavily filled with smoke, as pictured above, but the sound was clear and powerful for this first gig by Monolog since he put the finishing touches to his next album, "Merge" (adn178), which will be released soon on Ad Noiseam (more about this in the coming days).

As with most (if not all) of his gigs, Monolog recorded his set at Schlagstrom, and has uploaded a short, 5-minute long excerpt from it to his Soundcloud page. Click "play" below or here to enjoy. This will leave you asking for more, though, so note that you can also listen to part of his set at Fusion 2014, to all of his show at Ad Noiseam's 13th birthday party in Paris this April, to a track played live at Burn The Machine in 2013, or yet to his concert at Maschinenfest 2013. More importantly, of course, is his latest album, "2 Dots Left" (adn172), released last year and from which most of this material is coming from.

Besides the official souvenir above, you can also dive back in to Monolog's Schlagstrom 2014 concert courtesy of an intrepid fan who filmed the whole thing and uploaded it online. The sound quality doesn't pay justice to what it was for the attendance, but Monolog completists might not want to pass on this.
