Friday Freebie: new ambient "mindcast" by Monolog.

Friday Freebie: new ambient podcast by Monolog.

Friday Freebie: most people reading this line will think primarily of hard beats and complex d'n'b structures when reading the name Monolog. This is accurate when thinking of his recent album, "2 Dots Left" (adn172). However, this Danish musician has been writing a lot more calmer material as well over the years, as for example demonstrated with his 2012 "Aerodymanic" LP.

Following a series of mix and live records aimed at presenting his current, furious and distorted self, Monolog has decided to showcase this (much) more atmospheric of his talent with the latest episodes of the "Mindcast" series curated by the good people of the Mindwaves label. The result is half an hour of deep drones and very subtle changes and melodies, which you can listen to here or below. Enjoy.

New video of Oyaarss performing "Parejošs kaut kas" as a live band.

The feedback received to the video of Oyaarss's "Malduguns" performed as a live band (meaning with live guitars and drums) received a great amount of positive feedback. Good news, it is followed today by a second video from the same session. This time around, Oyaarss and his associates of Nelaudis paired to create a live retranscription of "Parejošs kaut kas" ("Perishable Something"), also takern from Oyaarss's "Bads" album (adn159).

This live rendition of "Parejošs kaut kas" is available here or below. Turn the volume up, click play and enjoy. You are free to share, repost this video and spread the word. Note that Oyaarss is now available for bookings both solo and as a live band. Get in touch to book him / them in your neck of the woods.

Friday Freebie: listen to Stavros Gasparatos's soundtrack to "Antigone"

Friday Freebie: We have written it many times: Stavros Gasparatos is not "only" a great musician of modern classical and electronic music (as demonstrated on his recent album for Ad Noiseam, "Seven"), but also a prolific author of soundtracks for the stage. We have already presented and made available his works for "The Glass Menagerie" and "Stallerhof". Today's free stream and download is a half hour selection of the material he wrote for a performance of "Antigone" (the Jean Anouilh play, not the one by Sophocles), presented to the public this winter in Athens.

As usual, sit back, read a bit about this play and listen to Stavros Gasparatos's soundtrack here or below. Note that you can also download these tracks here).

There's quite a lot in the pipeline for Gore Tech at the moment. Recently relocated to Berlin (right in time for Burn The Machine 2013), this musician has a few releases in preparation, including a follow-up to the Ad Noiseam-released "Machine Throne" EP (adn166). The Bitlord Blog just sat down with him for an interview in which this musician compares the breakcore scene in his native Manchester and his new Berlin home, his music production techniques and Gore Tech's near future, among other topics. New photos of Igorrr as a live band,

It has become an habit, and one we don't want to stop: Svarta Photography keeps on documenting Igorrr's endavours (as for example seen here). We already posted her photos of Igorrr's Gautier Serre surrounded by Laure Le Prunenec and Laurent Lunoir, the two singers which the lucky among us will see and hear perform alongside Igorrr at select gigs in the future, and she has now taken her camera to the rehearsal room for a few pictures of the band's practice sessions.

A few of her pictures are to be seen below. Watch out for more as well as, of course, for Igorrr's live listings. Promoters: we are now taking booking requests not only for Igorrr's regular sets, but also for this live configurations's. Get in touch if you want to get some baroquecore in your neck of the woods.

Fourth part of DJ Hidden's "Enclosed" podcast series.

DJ Hidden's impressive third album, "Enclosed" (adn173) might have now been released, but he's not giving up on the announced colossal series of six hour-long podcasts prepared to promote the album and showcase the scope of his taste and talents. After a first (Ad Noiseam) episode focusing on his own music, a second (Hard Bass Dealers) aimed at drum'n'bass heads and a third (PRSPCT) to fans of crossbreed and hardcore, here comes a much more downtempo and melodic fourth part, this time made official by our good friends of Mindtrick Records.

You can listen to this podcast here or below. Enjoy, and of course, don't forget to check out "Enclosed", which is at least as varied as this podcast series.
