2013 is reaching its end, but we're not letting you down, as we announce today our first release of 2014. Ad Noiseam is proud to welcome to the label the very taltented 2methyl (formerly known as 2methylbulbe1ol). His first release for Ad Noiseam, the "Orb" EP, will bear the catalog number adn175 and come out on vinyl and as digital files on February 17th, 2014. You can already pre-order it on 12" record and as mp3 or FLAC.
We will, of course, bring you more information and sounds about 2methyl's "Orb" in the coming weeks. Here is already a medley of the whole EP, an 8 minute snippet featuring excerpts from its four track. Scroll below to read more about it and see its artwork.
These shirts show half of the Ad Noiseam logo on the front, and the other half filled with a complete list of all the artists having released on the label between 2001 and 2013 on the back (which yes, is a good way to check which ones you know, and which you still need to listen to). Additionally, these shirts are part of our effort to break the mold of constant black shirts. We have often been guilty of printing black shirts (though there have already been quite colors already) but this time around, these shirts are available in red, green, blue and grey only. No black ones (and no grey ones for the women sizes).
As usual, these shirts are sweat-shop free, fair-trade and printed on organic cotton.
This the season of presents and Niveau Zero is your early Santa Claus, as he is giving away a new tracktoday. This "Lndscpe" tune can be listened to and download for free right here through the French zine Mowno (which explains why we can not embed it here). Those of you who can read French are welcome to read the description coming with the tune. We are confident that the rest of you will understand how to play and download this track, which is very strong and should serve as a potential introduction to a follow-up to "Jasmine" (adn161).
Update: Niveau Zero has now made this track available directly from his Soundcloud page, meaning that we can also repost it below. Enjoy.
Friday Freebie: most people reading this line will think primarily of hard beats and complex d'n'b structures when reading the name Monolog. This is accurate when thinking of his recent album, "2 Dots Left" (adn172). However, this Danish musician has been writing a lot more calmer material as well over the years, as for example demonstrated with his 2012 "Aerodymanic" LP.
Following a series of mix and live records aimed at presenting his current, furious and distorted self, Monolog has decided to showcase this (much) more atmospheric of his talent with the latest episodes of the "Mindcast" series curated by the good people of the Mindwaves label. The result is half an hour of deep drones and very subtle changes and melodies, which you can listen to here or below. Enjoy.
Two tracks by Ben Lukas Boysen taken from his "Gravity" album (adn168) have recently been used in a short film simply entitled "Bonnie & Clyde", which Lanther Films describe as "British spin on the story of two of America's best known bank robbers (...) a pair who captured the imaginations of a nation disillusioned by financial crisis". This movie can be watched here or below.
This live rendition of "Parejošs kaut kas" is available here or below. Turn the volume up, click play and enjoy. You are free to share, repost this video and spread the word. Note that Oyaarss is now available for bookings both solo and as a live band. Get in touch to book him / them in your neck of the woods.
