Released on the heels of Asche's latest album for Ant Zen, this part-EP, part remix CD "Stonebrain" is also the first release for the (I believe US-based) Industry8 label. The five new Asche tracks presented here are overall calmer than what we could have expected, somewhere between atmospheric (but noisy) and headnod-inducing, without really any big club-packing tune. The following remixes are a nice addition, with Theologian (a.k.a. NTT) delivering a particularly nice one, and Nin Kuji and Iszoloscope closing the CD with the dance tracks fans were probably waiting for. A good Asche CD, a bit thinner than the album, but nice in its genre nonetheless.
