Second volume of Subtrakt's homage to Berlin's seminal Subland's club, with this time again four acts performing there on a regular basis. We first get one of these extremely high-fi, clear but monstrously heavy Current Value dubstep tune (think, for example, of his recent remixes for Björk), followed by an electro-fied, gritty track by Ad Noiseam-favorite Loop Stepwalker. The digital B side is the realm of Dean Rodell (as we would expect, considering that he runs this club), first with a massive, oppressive and particularly well produced tune, then on a slightly more spaced-out, aerial collaborative with his Species partner-in-crime. Seldom has dubstep sounded so clean and yet so clear, futuristic and bassy. Very recommended.
