It'd been some time since I hadn't listened to a new Audio Phreaks release, and I was quite surprised by this one. While the base of the music is still full frontal, filthy dubstep, most of the four tracks presented here also put hip hop vocals in the foreground, with quite competent MC and a lot of scratches, cuts and other niceties. In the end, while the sonorities are (filthy) dubstep, the feel of this record is firmly planted in hip hop, which is a welcome change from the otherwise middle-of-the-road brostep I could have expected.
