DJ Hidden, solo or with Eye-D as The Outside Agency, are(unsurprisingly for anybody who has an ounce of an idea what Ad Noiseam is about) acts whose material I have been enjoying constantly for years. But from times to times, a release stands even taller than the other ones. It was the case of the recent "Drastic / Dying Star" 12". This new two tracker on Union is also something I'd put in the pantheon of these musicians. The DJ Hidden is a surprisingly hardcore tune with very uncommon, electric-sounding melodies, very long pads and a deliciously (slightly) retro choice in beats. The TOA track on the other side, while not "crossbreed" is a splendid, changing and melodic piece, extremely efficient but humane, reminding me a bit of DJ Hidden's "Earth Cry". Kids, get this record.
