The solo project of a member of a German metal band I am not familiar with, Erode is something which, in some aspects, reminds me of Detritus's early output (himself a musician coming straight out of the metal scene). While it might not have the drum'n'bass and drones aspects of Detritus, "Horizon" carries the same kind of introvert but at times uplifting atmospheres, and juggles as well between orchestral moments and more beat-driven ones. It might be heavy handed at times, and the final pop remix might not be my thing, but the whole thing still sounds quite promising.
