It's been a long time since Geomatic's dark ambient debut on M-Tronic. While this album might not be 64 lights year away from its predecessor, there are some major changes to be heard under the noticeably ugly cover of this CD. First and foremost, this album is a resolutely oriental-sounding affair, full of mid-eastern melodies and tonalities. The drones have more or less disappeared, leaving place to a more straightforward instrumentation, ranging from modest beats to less-so post-goth arpeggiated tones. Some tracks might be a bit forced on the electro-industrial side of things (even though they always stay calm and "lights year away" from the dancefloor, but the more melodic and calm sounding ones are particularely well done and justify the purchase of this album alone. A very good surprise from Geomatic.
