Ikonika's fourth 12", released on Hyperdub more or less at the same time as her first record for Planet Mu, sounds a bit straighter and less complex than her earlier output. The tracks are bathing in long 8-bit melodies, supported by a rather metronomic, thick beat. The result is quite pretty and charming, and while it might not really surprise anymore, it now has a certain pop appeal that might make the otherwise gritty and reduced feel of her music go down more easily.
