Behind its "science-fiction paperback" cover, "Rise", the debut CD by the Berlin-based Integral duo, is a very pleasant album of highly melodic and brooding industrial electronica, which reminds strongly of such artists's work as Polygon, early Displacer and some Gridlock. Subtle, downtempo but always dark and deep, this might not be a perfect CD to dance to, but is a very enjoyable thing to listen to. A strong debut.
