More or less at the same time as we were putting out Karsten Pflum's "Nemo Loon" record, the good people of the young Berlin-based label Mindwaves label had the good idea of releasing a new album by our favorite Danish producer. More laid back and electronica-minded than the dancefloor-oriented "Nemo Loon", this "Slaphead Faun" is an excellent collection spawning several years of IDM production by this musician. Glitchy, playful, extremely clear and dynamic, it shows again that Karsten Pflum is obviously one of the most talented and open minded artists of the genre at the moment. Free of clichés but not of imagination and ideas, this is an extremely recommended record for anybody who like their electronic music refreshing and tasty.
