It's from Ninja Tune rather than from Brainfeeder that comes Lorn's sequel to the already impressive "Nothing Else", and what a an album. "Ask The Dust" sounds like a very mature, thoughtful and extremely well executed digestion of all kinds of leftfield electronic and "bass" music out there at hte moment. There's of course a heavy dose of brainy hip-hop to be found here, but also some retro pads, some 8bits sounds and quite a lot of dark, menacing ambiances. A diverse, solid and rich whole which really feels like an album. Hats off to Lorn.
