Interesting album, this new Orphx side-project. Opening on a rather drone-based and slightly noisy note, it slowly evolves into a more accoustic whole, with a touch of particularly ascetic post-rock appearing towards its end. The spherical, at times pulsating dub feeling of Orphx is to be heard here and there, but the whole thing is a much more laidback, downtempo and daring experiment. A bit too stripped and gritty for post rock, but not as weird and demanding as one would think at first, this album sits somewhere in between genres, and is a good way to start this new project. Let's see where it will go from there.
