Following similarly soul / r'n'b-leaning releases on other labels by the likes of the Cooly G , Subeena or Yolanda, Tectonic takes the plunge and signs NYC's Pursuit Grooves for this resolutely pop sounding EP. While there's still an interesting electronic edge to this record, the prominant soul and hip hop vocals take the front stage, resulting in a record which will probably work better either on the radio or with house fans than on my turntable. And still, the instrumentation is pretty nice, so fans of the acts listed above might want to try this out.
