Once could write at first that everything goes in Sinister Souls's first long player, that this Dutch duo are mixing everything together. And still, while "Beat The Drum Hard" is a varied album, all the elements used here have their roots in the current hard-edged, tough-guy dancefloor material that is all the rage in their country at the moment: chainsaw-served dubstep, pounding hardcore and dark drum'n'bass (even with the metal riff on one track). A bit like Dub Elements (but in my opinion better), Sinister Souls come here with the perfect party album for the black hoodie wearing crowd. It's really hard, it's very loud, it's super energetic, and it is therefore quite far from their more laid back debut, but definitely something to check out.
