After having material on Ramp and Stuff, Slugabed lands on Planet Mu with this uncommonly lush 6 track, full artwork EP in which he embraces the current chiptune and playful take at dubstep. Imagine Zomby with more broken beats, Joker with more complexity, or Rustie digging out the gameboy, and you get a good idea of what this record sounds like. It rides a trend, but does it well and I haven't got tired of this kind of material yet. A nice record, which potentially could pave the way to a lot of good things from Slugabed.
