A year after "Reformation" on Ad Noiseam,. the Somatic brothers bounce a Response on Hymen, an album that contrasts strongly with its heavy dubstep predecessor. "Neon" kicks off under a strangely clear techno light, before settling down on a typical highly melodic but percussive take at rhythmic noise, "Digital Darkness" style. Towards its end, though, "Neon" dares to dip itself into some distorted hip hop, drum'n'bass and generally speaking, bassier sounds, which shows that the Healy brothers, though falling back on their niche here, haven't lost their love for low frequencies.
