Submerged's third album is a bit of a pot-pourri of genres, even though its core is still the hard and fast drum'n'bass that one has grown to expect from this producer. Between a downtempo track featuring Scorn and Dr Israel and an outro which is basically Blood Of Heroes without Enduser, "Before Fire" is hard staccato beats and rocketfire, with a few slightly slower track, and a Drumcorps-inspired metal one. Overall, the sound is more cohesive than on this album's two predecessors, and instead of aiming at displaying all the genres played by this musician, the focus is, in my opinion, clearly on the d'n'b dancefloor.
