In contrast to a lot of other rhythmic acts, NYC's Synth-Etik intends on keeping the genre's flame alive by mostly sticking to the rules of the game for his third album. Starting with what he is known for, fast staccato rhythms supported by very overdriven noise, "Phantom" then evolves a bit, with calmer intro and outros, in which tiny melodies and soundscapes are allowed to tread. Still, we're definitely speaking of a club-oriented, banging rhythmic noise album here, which knows how not to repeat itself and still stick to the genre.
