Third album for Tzolk'in, the collaboration between Flint Glass and Empusae, this new CD sees the duo come up with more orchestral and lushier tracks than on its predecessors. Less ambient, but also considerably less industrial, "Tonatiuh" sounds to me as a more crafted and detailled album, with stronger instrumentations and percussions which, even though they still carry the industrial / electronica touch of both projects, are less on the foreground and leave more space for the rest of the music to breathe. A strong album all throughout.
